The India Department of Posts has announced the recruitment of 44228+ posts in Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) for July 2024. This is a golden opportunity for 10th pass candidates to join as Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), or Dak Sevak in various offices of the Department of Posts across the country. - Registration and Online Application: 15th July 2024 to 5th August 2024.
- Edit/Correction Window: 6th August 2024 to 8th August 2024.
Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 18 years.
- Maximum Age: 40 years (Relaxations apply as per government norms).
Educational Qualification:
- Essential: Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English from any recognized board of school education.
- Other Requirements: Knowledge of the local language, knowledge of computer, and cycling.
Job Profiles:
Branch Postmaster (BPM):
- Managing day-to-day postal operations, marketing and promoting products and services, handling mail conveyance and delivery, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the branch office.
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM):
- Assisting BPM in postal operations, delivering mail, and handling transactions, along with marketing and promotions of departmental services.
Dak Sevak:
- Handling mail conveyance, delivery, and assisting in the smooth functioning of departmental offices, including sorting and transhipment of mailbags.
Emoluments and Allowances:
- BPM: Rs. ₹12,000 - ₹29,380
- ABPM/Dak Sevaks: Rs. ₹10,000 - ₹24,470
- Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance, GDS Gratuity, and Service Discharge Benefit Scheme.
How to Apply:
1. Registration: Candidates must register online at [India Post GDS Online](https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in) using a valid mobile number and email address.
2. Fee Payment: A fee of Rs. 100 for all posts, except for female, SC/ST, PwD, and Transwomen applicants.
3. Online Application: Upload a recent photograph(jgp/jpeg - 50 kb) and signature(jpg/jpeg - 20kb), and fill in the required details accurately.
Selection Criteria:
- Selection of GDS will be based on a system-generated merit list prepared based on marks obtained in the 10th standard. No Exam.
