Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was rushed immediately to Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday morning after shot a bullet injury from his own licensed revolver. The incident occurred at his Juhu residence around 4:45 AM, while he was preparing to leave for an event in Kolkata. As he was handling the gun, it accidentally slipped from his hand and misfired, hitting him in the leg.

Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed that the actor was checking his revolver before packing it away when it accidentally discharged. "He was putting the gun in the cupboard when it fell, and the bullet hit his leg," Sinha stated. The actor was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. According to reports, Govinda’s condition is stable, and he is currently recovering.
In an audio message to his fans, Govinda expressed gratitude for the support he received, saying, “Thanks to your blessings and the doctors here, the bullet has been removed, and I am doing better”. His daughter, Tina Ahuja, is by his side in the hospital. She shared with Indian Expressmthat her father underwent surgery and is currently in the ICU under close observation. "Papa will remain in the ICU for 24 hours while doctors monitor his condition,” she said.

Mumbai Police officials confirmed the details of the incident, stating that no serious injury had been caused, but Govinda was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. A statement from DCP (Zone IX) Dikshit Gedam mentioned that no case had been registered, as no complaint was received. "We are treating this as an unfortunate accident and will make a diary entry after recording statements from his family members," said a Juhu police officer.
